With Every Door Direct Mail® (EDDM®) service from the U.S. Postal Service®, you can get help reaching potential customers in nearby neighborhoods—and you don’t even need to know names or street addresses. Simply identify the delivery routes you want to reach, prepare your mailpieces, drop off your mailpieces to the post office, and the printed pieces will be delivered to every active address in your designated area.

Rockwell Printing makes it even easier for you to utilize this service. Not only do we offer one-on-one custom design services and printing, but we are also a full service mailing provider. This means we handle the entire process for you: designing, printing, bundling, paperwork and post office delivery. The only thing you have to do is decide the geographic location you want to target with your mailing by choosing specific mailing routes.

Picking your desired mailing routes is easy! Just visit eddm.usps.com to get started. You can search by street address, city and state, or just zip code by entering in your search criteria into the text field within the search location box.

You might get a message saying that your mailing cannot exceed 5,000 mail pieces, but don’t worry! Since we are a full service mailing provider, this rule doesn’t apply. Just send us the routes you want, and we will take care of the rest!

Mailing routes can also be viewed in a table format by clicking “Show Table” in the upper left hand corner of the map. The table view columns provides more information including route names, number of addresses, the percentage of each route that matches a given age range criteria, average household size, average household income and the estimated postage cost to mail to a given route. You can also sort by these demographics to accurately choose the routes you want to target.

This view is the best way to communicate to us the routes you want to mail to. Either take a screenshot of this page with the appropriate routes selected, or write down the zip code and route number (ex: 93013-C002) and send us a list.

To return to map view, click “Hide Table” in the lower left hand corner of the list.

Design Requirements

To mail as an EDDM, your mail piece must be considered a postal flat:
A postal flat must be more than 6.125″ in height, OR 10.5″ in length. However, it cannot exceed 12″ in height and 15″ in length. The most common size for an EDDM mail piece is 6.25″ x 9″.

The only design requirement for an EDDM mail piece is a small clear zone, generally in the upper right hand corner, for the indicia imprint. Other than that, you are free to utilize the entire area of the postcard for your advertising and design.

Not sure where to start when designing a postcard? We are here to help! Rockwell Printing offers fully customized design services tailored to your specific needs. Our design team will work one-on-one with you to bring your design to life. We also have years of experience in advertising and marketing, and can advise on effective wording and imagery combos to best showcase your business.
